5 things request
Hi readers... I don't know how many of you are out there exactly, but I'd like to get to know you if I don't already.
A few months ago I started collecting and posting from friends a collection of 5 things they'd like to do before they die.
So with the intent to expand our horizons a little bit, if you're reading this and would like to send me your 5 things, I'd be thrilled to hear them. Once or twice I week I will be posting a new collection of 5 things from one of you and we can all be inspired to add new things to our own lists.
If you'd like to share your 5 things, send them to me in an email at saraannhaws@gmail.com... Also if you wouldn't mind telling me how you stumbled across this blog, I'd be really interested to learn.
Cheers!

Surprise Ball
I love this idea. It's called a Surprise Ball.
It is a series of little vintage trinkets wrapped up in yards and yards of crepe paper and confetti, so you keep getting new surprises as it is unwrapped.
I would probably use something different than vintage trinkets, but I would love to give a gift wrapped up like this!

One of the necessaries of life
A litte library, growing larger every year, is an honourable part of a man's history. It is a man's duty to have books. A library is not a luxury, but one of the necessaries of life.

Sushi Trucks
I truly, sincerely and deeply despise sushi. But that doesn't mean I didn't get a kick out of these sushi trucks!

Sprinkle Heaven
I found sprinkle heaven. It's right here.
All the sprinkles of the rainbow, arranged by color. I feel like a cross between Rainbow Bright and Martha Stewart just looking at all those sprinkles.

Births and Weddings
I feel like I'm surrounded by births and weddings right now. Everywhere I look... babies and engagements. I've never experienced this sensation before.
Life, life, life.
The plan is working!

Wedding Bands
IKF and I picked out our wedding bands last weekend!
My engagement ring looks like this...
And the band that I picked out looks like this...
That is kind of an awkward angle on the wedding band. But they look soooooooo pretty together!
Hooray for getting married! In 11 days!

Glee Confession
Confession: I love Glee.
It is my seriously guilty pleasure. I know I just mentioned my general dislike of TV, but this show is one of my exceptions. This last episode was particularly fantastic. These two numbers had me hitting the rewind button at least three times:
We can dance...
Dream on...

Real Men Dance
The one thing that IKF asked for as we were planning the wedding was to take dance lessons. Yep, he's a keeper.
The Men of The Sartorialist
I'll admit it. I stalk The Sartorialist like its my job.
He takes such gorgeous and interesting pictures. Plus I miss the fashion inspiration of living in the City, so this gives me a creativity fix.
I especially like his pictures of old men though. Men with style and personality who exude gentlemanly flair.
Like this Italian man in all white.
Fabulous.

There was an old woman who lived in a shoe...
But I don't think it was this shoe.
The next time you're in New Zealand, see if you can book a night or two at the Boot and Breakfast. It is literally a house, shaped like a boot, and built for two people.
It makes me so happy when people actually carry out eccentric ideas... Like maybe the world isn't all that bad if I can spend a night in a house shaped like a shoe.

Chocomize
This is awesome. Chocomize will let you custom build your ideal candy bar. I've already started building a few in my head...
1. The "I wish I was in Hawaii right now" - White chocolate with macadamia nuts, pineapple, mango, papaya and coconut.
2. The "Yes, I'm eating sophisticated candy while I read Proust" - Dark chocolate with lavender, sea salt and crystallized violet petals.
3. The "Ode to Coldstone's Birthday Cake Remix" - White chocolate with Oreo pieces, rainbow sprinkles, toffee pieces and a happy birthday plate.
... What would you build?

TV Cozy
I hate having the TV on all day. Hate it. And I hate having the TV be the focal point of any room, because I think it gives it undo importance... I DO however like to watch Jane Austen movies and old episodes of Alia on occasion.. so I'm not pure enough to do away with my TV completely.
Enter this genius idea... the TV Cozy! Just cover it up when you're not using it.

Chalkboard Paint
I've been seeing chalkboard paint pop up all over the place, but this is my favorite iteration so far: the chalkboard pendant light.
I think $100+ is seriously steep for this when I could buy a pendant light at Ikea with a cheap shade and then chalkboard paint it myself... which I just might do.
