If I had three boys

So, I'm 27. And due to the circumstances of my married life, my husband and I won't be ready to have kids for another... Oh... 3 to 6 years. That makes me between 30 and 33 when I start having kids. So when I think about having children, which only happens once in a while, I think that I will probably have a whole pack of them very close together. Which is why when I see rooms like this amazing 1945 Boys Bedroom by Armstrong, I start getting lots of inspiration...

I love that there is a little bed and a little desk for each boy, and their names are in the rug on the floor. And how genius is it to have the beds stack up? A little more space and the room becomes a play room.

Plus, I always thought it would be cool to have ladders and little cubbies in my room as a kid.

Although I don't think I'll be naming my children Tom, Dick and Larry.

Weekend in Santa Barbara

IKF and I had plans to spend this weekend in Las Vegas with some friends, however, when our friends got sick we were left with a wide open weekend and no plans - Hence, Santa Barbara! It's nice to have family that live in beautiful places.

Saturday morning we woke up to a beauitful foggy day and I practicallly bounced IKF out of the house and downtown to the Farmers Market. Which is heaven.

We got bread, cheese, pluots, figs, black berries and the most delicious white raspberries. After a few laps around the market enjoying the fresh smells and hippy parade, we took our fresh finds down to the beach and ate them on the sand. It was basically a perfect morning.

Later on we checked out the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, which is currently featuring an exhibit on Contemporary Korean Photography.

After a visit to the turtles in the pond on State Street, we grabbed delicious burritos at the Sandbar.

After some afternoon downtown time, (read - movies, nap, games) we ventured out for a stroll down State Street and ended up enjoy delicious Indian Food at Spice Avenue.

With very full and very hapy tummies we went back to the house and I introduced IKF to one of my favorite all time movies: The Interpreter. Brilliant acting, spot on writing, engaging plot line, intriguing mystery. Sooo good.

Sunday featured lunch with the family clan and a leisurely drive home accompanied by Harry Potter Book 4 on CD.

So, I'm kind of into memoirs.  Since college, at least, I've taken to collecting the stories of people who I find inspiring or interesting in one way or another. But honestly, it was the photography on the cover of this book that made me grab it.

Some of the rhetoric I've heard before - Be yourself! Love your body! - but still an interesting read. Crystal shares a lot of healthy philosophies and positive perspectives, plus she give some insider commentary on the fashion world which holds a great deal of mystery and alure. I do agree with the sentiment that we have become starved for authenticity. This just out: Real is the new black.

Who should read this book?: Women looking for a little solidarity when it comes to being healthy. Women who want an inside look at the world of high fashion.

Who should not read this book?: Men.

Labor Day Weekend

The Frost Family was in festive mode this weekend.

Drive-in movie, watching Bones on Netflix instant play, Mongolian BBQ, Ticket to Ride, Funfetti Cookies, more Bones on Netflix, a trip to the mountains and some apple picking in Oak Glen, and rosemary bread at Macaroni Grill. Every weekend should be a long weekend!
