I think if I saw these without knowing what they were, I would be deeply disturbed. But man, I wouldn't forget it, and I think memorability is a strong indicator of good art.

Tom and I were trying to find all of them the other day while eating lunch in the park. They're apparently guardians of Madison Square? I haven't read up on the exhibit so I'm sure you know more than I do but they are also on the ground on the East and West side of the park. Completely naked by the way. Because you can't fully guard something unless you are 100% uninhibited, I say. ;)
