This weekend is the 181st semiannual General Conference of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Two days to listen to some of the most brilliant men and women in the world give counsel on the most important issues of our time - how to help those in need, how to pursue peace on our own lives, how to build strong families and raise responsible children, how to face the personal challenges that threaten our own happiness and well-being.
I look forward to this weekend every year and I always come away feeling stronger.
If you're interested in catching any of the conference it will be available here, here, here and here starting Saturday morning at 10 am MST.

The Big Harumph
The Big Harumph is one of my most favorite etsy shops ever.
Such beautiful, clever prints.
I've been thinking about these welcome prints for weeks and weeks. Is it too early to start working on my Christmas list?

Giddy Spinster
Etsy shop Giddy Spinster reclaims old stilettos and other feminist objects and turns them into ironic art. What do you think?
Man, I really want a cactus.

Orchard
Husband is taking the LSAT this Saturday! Your fervent prayers are appreciated.
Immediately following his test I am whisking him away to the cabin - where we will pick apples, visit with my grandparents and sit on the porch for two days.

Pretty Cheese
Every time I make a cheese plate I want to take a picture. It's just so beautiful.
Am I taking this cheese snobbery thing too far?

Cactus Garden
I'm seriously thinking about starting a cactus garden. I've barely managed to keep my little basil plant alive since the Spring. I think I'm ready for something a little lower maintenance.
Pumpkin Apple Cupcakes with Maple Cinnamon Frosting
Did I mention that they are super easy and even kind of healthy?
Yay for FALL!
Pumpkin Apple Cupcakes with Maple Cinnamon Frosting
Cupcakes:
1 medium apple (peeled, cored and diced)
1 boxed yellow, or white, or spice cake mix
1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground clove
1 1/2 cups canned pumpkin (not pumpkin pie mix)
1 1/3 cups water
Frosting:
1 16-ounce container cream cheese icing
2 tablespoons light maple syrup
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1. Preheat the oven to 350 and line two cupcake pans with paper liners.
2. In a small microwave-safe bowl, microwave the apple pieces on high about 1 minute or until tender. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cake mix, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, pumpkin and water, then beat with an electric mixer on high speed 2 minutes. Fold in the cooked apple pieces.
4. Spoon the batter into prepared cupcake pan. Bake the cupcakes about 18 to 20 minutes or until inserted toothpick comes out clean.
5. Meanwhile, in a small mixing bowl, stir the cream cheese icing, maple syrup, and cinnamon until well blended. Allow cupcakes to cool completely before frosting. Devour greedily.

Star Projector
Seriously romantic and breath-taking.
Do I need to say that I want one? Or does that go without saying? Well, there, I said it.
