Have a lovely long weekend
Happy Memorial Day Weekend!
I'll be getting a tan and reading three books on the lake this weekend. Hope you have a good one!

City Silhouettes
I found this image here, but I haven't been able to trace it back to the original source. Anyone know where to buy it?

Rain in NY
I recently read through some of the blog posts from my last summer in NYC. It reminded me how often it rains there in the spring and summer. It's a different kind of rain. It's the kind that comes out of nowhere like a flying flood and then leaves just as quickly. I miss the puddles sometimes.
Banana Party
Doesn't this look like a party waiting to happen?
I was originally thinking of it as a fun kids party idea... But then I started to play that out in my mind... And it wasn't pretty.... We'll save the chocolate dipping and small bowls full of small spillable things for the adults.

Moves like Mick
Did you see Mick Jagger host SNL last Saturday?
I thought he was fabulous, not to mention dashing in that gold jacket. Rolling Stone agrees with me and posted some of the highlights here.
And I got a tiny bit teary when they said goodbye to Kristen Wiig. :(

Backfill
BTW, I did a little backfill posting today. I try to publish at least three posts a day, but this month has been a little thin.. So I went and backfilled about half of the missing posts earlier and I'll finish the rest tonight. Just saying.. scroll down, there's more, if you care to see it.

Adventure Plates
Someday in the game room of my dream house, this will hang on the wall. In my mind that room is full of beat up leather sofas and cowhides and faded American flags and old license plates from all over the country...
Some brilliant Americana mash-up of Old West meets the 70's.
Seriously, how rad would that be?

Tire as Art
It’s hard to believe that each one of these used car tires is hand-carved by Belgian artist Wim Delvoye. The collection of tires features intricate pattern work with various motifs, like floral and Art Deco.
I have to admit, I never would have imagined it.

Variations on a theme
Cute and covered. Feminine and fun. I can really see this being a great middle ground for mom-wear someday.
