Winning at online shopping

Now that I have a toddler who doesn't like napping, doesn't like shopping carts and doesn't like the stroller, I have learned to love online shopping. I love online shopping because it can be done without having to make a second trip through the store to pick up all of the cheerios and/or fruit snacks that my darling one threw dropped on the first trip through the store.

Two of my favorite tricks for online shopping:

1) Retail Me Not. Before I check out anywhere, I always google "_____ (name of the store) promo code." Nearly every time I do this, RetailMeNot has a nifty little coupon code that will knock 20% of my total order, give me free shipping, or otherwise make me feel smart and thrifty!

2) Amazon Prime. Worth it. My family all shares one account. We get free streaming TV and movies and we get free two-day shipping. This makes Amazon the most cost-effective place to shop almost always. Again, before I click the "check out" button on any other site, I do a quick check to see if I can find it on Amazon, for cheaper and with free shipping. Usually, I can.

My last piece of advice is not really a trick, but a mantra: You CAN find what you are looking for. It's the INTERNET, it's out there. You just have to know what to look for and be determined enough to find it. And you will.

And that's how to win at online shopping.

Swim Onesies for Summer 2011

Remember back before the internet when it was nigh unto impossible to find non-frumpy one-piece bathing suits?

Just one more reason to love the world wide web.

Here are a few of my favorites...

Callista Cardigan

Ok, ok, ok. I realize that I'm kind of geeking out about this, and this is my third post in a row about Ruche. But their stuff is so cute, and so reasonable!

Like this cardigan, that I want to buy and then wear every day for the rest of my life:

What A Clever Scarf, in other words, I want one.

I'm kind of in love with this little shop called Ruche. Specifically with this scarf.

Because its an American Tradition and all...

If my birthday were about a month from now (it is) and if anyone were thinking of getting anything for me (hugs are encouraged) and needed a few ideas, then they might consider the following:

1) Domino Design Book

2) Pear Bookends

3) Mr & Mrs Pillows

4) Manhattan Typography Map

5) Eat, Memory

6)  Steven Madden Lorane's, in blue, size 8

Art, books, shoes and pillows. What more could a girl want?

I HEART shoes. Pink ones.

It's pictures like this that keep me obsessed with shoes...

Tell me you don't want those... Ok, fine. But I don't believe you.

Harvey Bags

Harvey Bags are made out of seat belts. I have been in love with them for quite some time. Particularly the big red ones (shocker, I know).

But I gasped out loud when went to their site today and saw the new ruffled bags.

I need a sugar daddy, or a trust fund.

Or both.
