Jolly Old England

Hey Pahty, does this take you back or what? (Unless of course you are Rachel who actually IS back!)

*le sigh*  I miss England.

Hey England...

Remember that day we hiked AROUND the lake because there was no ferry? And then when we got to our hostel we were so hungry we devoured Sloppy Joes like we would never eat again?

Good times.

This picture reminds me of that day.

British Breakfast

Oh my goodness, this picture gives me powerful flashbacks to the hostel breakfasts we were searved each morning in England. The British are not known for their cuisine and most mornings I ended up eating beans on toast because I couldn't stomach stewed mushrooms and blood sausage.

Beware. Sheep Crossing.

During my first few days in Scotland, everytime we saw a sheep we would take out our cameras. After the first few days of hiking through the hills we realized that the sheep are flippin' everywhere, and we stopped taking pictures.

But I still think of those first few days when I see cool sheep pictures.

Stourhead Garden

If you are ever roaming about the English countryside looking for something to do, may I suggest spending an afternoon in Stourhead Garden?

It was by far one of my favorite stops on my tour of England a few years ago. It was actually designed so that every view from every vantage point in the garden is incredible.

And when you think you've seen everything, you come around a bend in the path and into the secret grotto.

*sigh* I love this stuff. Stunning views, incredible gardens, secret grottoes...

And if you require additional persuasion... Stourhead is also where they shot the proposal scene in the Keira Knightly version of Pride and Prejudice.

Oh ok, we'll watch it...

*sigh* England...

I was watching the new BBC Emma with my mom last weekend and as they were walking through a field she asked me if it really looks like that... The answer is yes, it really looks like this:
